The preservation research of the Center for Jazz Arts has brought it together with a variety of established local artists struggling with pending health needs and limited financial resources.

Los Angeles --- In cooperation with the Los Angeles office of the MusiCares Foundation, the work of the Center for Jazz Arts has now begun providing a new channel of communication between local artists and available health services made possible through organizations such as MusiCares, The Actor's Fund, The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, The Musician's Assistance Program, The Screen Actors Guild, and others.

For nearly a century, the Hollywood music, film, and broadcast industries have stood on the shoulders of a broad cross-section of artists, craftspeople, entertainers, and creative leaders whose work has continuously advanced the defining spirit of American jazz culture around the world.

While its core public benefit mission involves primarily educational, preservation, and exhibition activities, the CJA is further committed to supporting the health and well-being of its community through ongoing cooperation with appropriate local and national organizations.
