CENTER FOR JAZZ ARTS INTRODUCES NEW VETERANS HISTORY PROGRAM
IN FRANCE AND BELGIUM
March 17, 2007
Los Angeles --- Center for Jazz Arts recently introduced the organization’s new, WW-II veteran’s history project (the “American Stories” project) to various, leading, U.S. and European institutions in both France and Belgium, and is continuing to coordinate the expansion of the program in close cooperation with representatives from each country.
“In addition to our introduction of the project to the French Department of the American Legion, which includes every American Legion post throughout France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Greece, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Belgium,” stated Guy DeFazio, president and chairman of the Center for Jazz Arts, “we’re deeply honored to also be working closely with the many other U.S. and European groups lending their invaluable support to this important, new program.”
The goal of the American Stories project to bring together WW-II veterans, their families, and their local communities in the sharing of their inspiring stories involving the unending spirit of freedom and hope brought by American jazz during the time of the Allied liberation of Europe and the Pacific is one that will soon be enabling veterans and survivors from each country to re-educate us all as to the many, deep and long-standing values that we continue to share.
For WW-II veterans and their families (in either the United States or Europe) who are interested in sharing their stories as part of this ongoing, multi-year program, please contact:
